AOC’s Protégé Wins—And New York’s Jews Lose

New York’s 36th Assembly District just sent a chilling message: anti-Zionism and soft-on-terror rhetoric are not only tolerated—they’re electable. Andrew Cuomo, a mainstream pro-Israel Democrat, lost to Zohran Mamdani, a DSA-backed candidate who still won’t condemn the Hamas attacks of October 7. Mamdani instead accuses Israel of genocide—while Jews bury their dead from the worst massacre since the Holocaust.

Let’s be clear: Mamdani isn’t an outlier in today’s Democratic Party. He’s the future they’re embracing. While Mamdani pushes Hamas talking points, the Democratic establishment shrugs. It’s up to New York’s Jewish voters to recognize the danger and break their loyalty to a party that has turned its back on them. Republican leaders have stood firm with Israel, called out antisemitism on the left, and championed Jewish security—here and abroad. We must remember that come November.
