While 107 Democrats were none too happy with Mike Pompeo’s announcement that Israeli settlements were not illegal, and wrote a letter making that clear, Dore Gold, president of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs called the announcement a “great service” to Israel.

“I thought it was very important to put on the table the issue of the improper application of the Fourth Geneva Convention in the case of Israel,” said Gold. “International law is a subject where people do interpret way of norms differently. That is simply the way it works.”
