Word has it that pro-Israel advocates, fed up with Facebook censorship, are defecting in droves to Me.we. A social networking site similar in design to Facebook, Me.we pledges not to engage in censorship or to use ads.
Pro-Israel advocates have been targeted by anti-Israel activists who report old comments, so that accounts are banned. Being banned is known as being in Facebook jail. There is no appeals system, so effectively, the anti-Israel people win. Meantime, Facebook has a habit of telling those who report anti-Israel hate pages, filled with antisemitic, violent rhetoric, that those pages don’t violate its Community Standards.
Which leads many to wonder if Facebook has any standards at all.
