You’ve heard about the 40,000 homes destroyed by Harvey. But did you know about all the cars that have been destroyed? That figure is approximately 1 million in the Houston metro area, alone!
Makes you wonder how it is that so many more cars than homes have been destroyed as a result of the storm. It seems that 94.4 percent of Houston households have cars, which works out to 1.8 cars per person. Executive Director of Transportation Advocacy Group Houston, Angela Houston explains that, “You really have to have a car if you’re in Houston.”
