Why do we keep knocking heads and wasting time trying to get Arabs to accept a peace agreement with Israel when they keep saying no? The latest expression against peace is a protest held in the city of Ramallah, the seat of Arab government which is under Palestinian Authority autonomy. There, in front of America House, an arm of the US Consulate, “scores” of Arabs called not only for closing down the US mission but for the expulsion of American diplomats.

Was the protest held under the auspices of or at the behest of the Palestinian Authority? It’s a good bet, considering that Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Mustafa Barghouti was on hand to give a statement to the press: “We call for the expulsion of all the American government workers from our homeland,” Barghouthi said.

Good to know where we stand. Even better to know we’ve reduced our aid to them.
